How to take a full-page screenshot in Chrome
Chrome has no built-in button for capturing a whole page. Kapture scrolls the page for you and stitches the result into a single image.
Steps
- Open the page you want to capture.
- Press
Ctrl + Shift + 3(Cmd + Shift + 3on Mac), or open the Kapture popup and choose full page. - Wait while Kapture scrolls the page. The popup shows progress when it is open.
- The finished image opens in the editor, where you can crop or annotate it.
The capture is also saved to your library, so you can find it later by title or site.
Other ways to capture the same page
- Visible area (
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + 1) saves only what is on screen. - Selected region (
Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + 2) lets you drag over just the part you need. - Single element lets you hover any element and click to capture it.
Limits
Chrome does not let any extension capture internal pages such as chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store. Kapture shows a clear message instead of failing silently. If the shortcut does nothing, check chrome://extensions/shortcuts for conflicts.
Where the image goes
Nothing is uploaded. The screenshot is stored in your browser profile until you copy, download or delete it. See privacy for details.
